The Wilton Historical Society Map Collection contains maps and atlases of Wilton and Fairfield County, Connecticut, in addition to local blueprints, plans, charts, and lists of cartographical interest. The collection as a whole provides snapshots of Wilton since the 1700s, mapping Wilton businesses, homes, residents, and place names, showing developments in transportation, environment, and economy, and reflecting continuity and change in local cultures. The oldest dated items are photocopies, tracings, or drawings of originals; the earliest originals are from the mid- to late 1700s. The latest additions are from the end of the twentieth century.

The Wilton Historical Society Neighborhoods and Old Houses Collection contains draft survey forms, index photographs, research notes, and other documentation relating (for houses) to date of construction, ownership history, major renovations, and relocations, and (for neighborhoods) dates of settlement, the names of founding and notable residents, prevailing economic activities and local businesses, the origins of local names, and the history of local roads. The information available for individual houses and neighborhoods varies widely. The earliest items date to the 1730s, but the bulk of the collection is mid- to late twentieth century.

The Oral Histories Collection contains audio tapes and videos of Wilton residents reminiscing about Wilton history and their lives in Wilton, as well as select historical videos relating to Wilton history.

The Wilton Historical Society Photograph Collection contains photographs, slides, postcards, paintings, line drawings, and other imagery pertaining to Wilton history. Many of these items are loose; some are framed or matted;a large number are stored as they were originally arranged: in family photograph albums, personal scrapbooks, and slide carousels. The bulk of the collection is from the late nineteenth century through the mid-twentieth century.

The Wilton Historical Society Printed Matter Collection contains a wide range of printed matter relating to Wilton history, including pamphlets, almanacs, reports, and innumerable other publication types. Likewise, the topical scope of the collection is broad. The earliest original items date to the early to mid-1800s, although later reprints of even earlier materials are included. The bulk of the collection was produced in the twentieth century.

The Robert H. Russell papers are the research notes, clippings, and miscellaneous other documents collected and produced by Robert H. Russell as he worked on his book, Wilton Connecticut: Three Centuries of People, Places, and Progress (2004).

The St. Matthew's Episcopal Church Records chronicle the church's history from 1803.

The Town Association Collection contains the records of the Wilton Town Association.

The Town Records Collection contains government records produced by the Town of Wilton.

The School Records Collection contains records from the public schools of the Town of Wilton.
