Photographic prints of steam and electric locomotives of the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad and a few of its predecessor railroad lines including the Naugatuck Railroad, the Connecticut River Railroad, the New York & New England Railroad and the New York, Westchester & Boston Railroad, collected by Richard H. Gillespie of Stamford, Connecticut. The collection also includes two scrapbooks compiled by Mr. Gillespie of newspaper clippings and photographic prints.

The collection contains drafts and proofs of Mr. Peck's publication, Here Lies the Librarian.

The collection contains materials documenting Mr. Smith's World War II military service and experiences at the Nuremberg Trials in addition to his later career in West Hartford politics.

The Richard Scarry Papers contain materials related to Scarry himself, but the majority of the archives pertains to the creation, production, and distribution of his books for children. The archives contains materials and correspondence concerning Scarry's early work, with Western Publishing and Little Golden Books, beginning in the 1950s. A greater amount of material concerns the works produced by Scarry during his later association with Random House.

Collection consists of annual reports submitted by approximately 80 Connecticut railroads and street railroads to the State Railroad Commission and the Public Utilities Commission. Reports include brief histories of the companies, lists of company organizations, officer and property owners, track information, and financial data.

Manuscript of "Strolling Thru Memoryland" by Rip Blevins and contains recollections of ten early 20th century sports figures.

Robert A. LaMay is a collector of railroad publications and memorabilia and a photographer of railroad locomotives and scenes, particularly those of southern New England and the New York City area. His papers include timetables, guides, brochures, and other items collected by Mr. LaMay as well as photographic prints, slides and negatives of railroad images taken by him of locomotives and scenes associated with the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, Penn Central, Conrail, Amtrak, Metro-North Commuter Railroad, Shore Line East and other railroad lines in the United States.

Born in 1927 in New Jersey, Parker is the illustrator of over forty children's books. Parker currently lives in Connecticut.

The collection contains materials collected or written by Dr. Black pertaining to the geology of Connecticut, Wisconsin and Antartica.

Robert Creeley attended Harvard University, Black Mountain College and University of New Mexico. A member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, Creeley has written novels, short stories, plays, screenplays, poetry, literary criticism and history. Creeley died in 2005.
