The files contain historical information pertaining to selected towns in the state of Connecticut, including magazine articles, maps, newspaper articles, photographs, etc. The towns documented include: Barkhamsted, Colebrook, Cornwall, Goshen, Harwinton, Litchfield, Norfolk, Riverton, Sharon, Simsbury, Torrington, and Watertown.

The collection contains family trees and extensive correspondence relating to genealogy research of the Hall and Moore families, done by Mrs. Luke R. (Hattie Hall) Moore. Also included are photographs and loose paperwork. Most correspondence includes postmarked envelopes.

The collection includes materials such as albums, catalogs, invitations, programs, tickets, and other ephemera relating to Winchester and Winsted, CT.
