This subseries consists of correspondence and manuscripts, relating to September 11, 2001: American Writers Respond (2002), edited by William Heyen. Included are several hundred letters and manuscripts compiled over the three-month period after September 11, 2001, in which the book took shape. Also included are rejected submissions and correspondence with authors who declined to be part of the project.
