Contains a revised second draft script by Robert Towne and shooting schedule for the film. This film is a sequel to the 1974 film "Chinatown," and was in pre-production for many years. Robert Towne began to direct this film in 1985, employing Jack Nicholson (in a reprise of his role as detective Jake Gittes) and Robert Evans. Towne eventually decided that Evans was not suitable for the role, and the project was abandonded. The film was resuscitated five years later starring Nicholson and Harvey Keitel. This script and shooting schedule is for the 1985 effort, and constitutes an sort of archive of the first attempt to make this film. The script is dated Feb. 11 1985, and contains revisions dated through April 4 of that year.
