This folder contains nine stills from the 1924 silent film, Greed, based on the Frank Norris book, McTeague. The initial cut of the film, which ran for ten hours, was cut down significantly for theater audiences. Notably, this film was also the first to be released by the newly-formed MGM (and in fact some of the stills are marked "Goldwyn Pictures" rather than MGM). The stills contained in the folder include shots of the central couple, Trina and McTeague, at their wedding banquet, and at their dentist's office. Another still shows a confrontation scene between Marcus (Jean Hersholt) and Mcteague (Gibson Gowland), which features the original still stamp template for the film from Metro-Goldwyn. Additionally, two of the stills (both closeups of the couple alone)indicate use at the film's premier at the Capitol Theatre, on February 26, 1925.
