This series comprises research notes created by Alice Scoville Barry, and Barry and Beecher family memorabilia. Barry's research notes for an apparently unpublished biography titled The Trial of Henry Ward Beecher constitute the largest series in the collection and include her notes on her opinions, book drafts, and correspondence with family members and close friends, including her brother Reverend Gurdon Trumbull Scoville (1904-1993). Barry's notes are often fragmentary but are extensively labeled to detail testimonies, themes, events, and press coverage of the Tilton adultery trial.
