This subseries consists of Steinberg's address books and his diaries, day planners, calendars and notebooks documenting his daily activities. Diaries, day planners, and calendars include brief notations for deadlines, appointments, shopping lists, and reminders. Most are filled with geometric doodles and lists of phone numbers and addresses. Notations about social engagements and contract work are also included. Steinberg periodically used day planners and calendars as personal diaries with notes on dreams, observations, experiences and ideas for drawings. Includes published calendars and day planners from
The New Yorker, Hallmark, and the Museum of Modern Art featuring Steinberg artwork. Some later notebooks from the 1990s include detailed dated diary-like entries. Subseries also includes miscellaneous loose notes found among the papers.
