This series primarily contains materials documenting Lee's mayor campaigns between 1949 and 1967. The series also includes material on state and national elections for 1956, 1958, and 1960, with smaller amounts for later elections. This series should be of considerable relevance to those interested in political campaigns and the electoral process. Mayor Lee effectively used the radio and television media in his successful campaign efforts and is noteworthy because he was one of the first politicians to make extensive use of modern polling techniques.
