Collection of European topical prints and drawings by various artists and printers, some unidentified, created circa 1600 through 1904. The bulk of the collection consists of urban and rural scenes and cityscapes, primarily in Vienna, as well as other Austrian cities and towns and some cities in Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Subjects of prints and drawings include churches, buildings, public works, palaces and castles, public squares, parks and gardens, and train stations in Vienna. Also included are general Vienna city views and depictions of towns, suburbs, and districts in and around Vienna and throughout Austria. The collection also includes printed documents with manuscript signatures, illustrated narrative scenes, a few portraits, and some unidentified images. Identified artists include Rudolf von Alt, W. H. Bartlett, Robert Batty, Tranquillo Mollo, and Jos. Trentsensky. Many prints include hand coloring.
