Photographs of the Colorado River, 1994-1995, chronicle Halverson's exploration of the river from its tributaries, the Gunnison River and Green River, through its main length, including sites along the river in Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, California, and Sonora, Mexico. Many of the images were published in her work, Downstream: Encounters with the Colorado River (Berkeley: University of California Press, 2008). Images of canyons include the Canyon of Lodore, Goosenecks, Cataract Canyon, the Grand Canyon, and Black Canyon. Images of rock formations include the Sentinels in Canyonlands National Park. Images of dams include Fontenelle Dam, Glen Canyon Dam, Hoover Dam, Davis Dam, Parker Dam, Palo Verde Diversion Dam, Imperial Diversion Dam, and Morelos Dam. Images of reservoirs include Fontenelle Reservoir, Flaming Gorge Reservoir, Lake Powell, Lake Mead, Lake Mohave, and Lake Havasu, as well as a view of the natural lake, Grand Lake. Images of bridges across the Colorado River include Dewey Bridge, Navajo Bridge, and Silver Bridge.
