Concerns three footnotes in John
Wilson Croker's edition of the
Letters of Mary Lepel, Lady Hervey,
which Murray published. Essex is
anxious that the references to his
grandfather Sir Charles Williams be
worded differently in the next
edition. He speaks freely of his
grandfather. In the last letter he
tells Murray of the whereabouts of
Williams' papers, apparently in
answer to a request.
