This collection details Nicholas Czunas early experiences as a freedom fighter in Hungary which helped to prepare him for his tour of duty in North Korea. An oral history interview was conducted on January 22, 2004 at Central Connecticut State University by Eileen Hurst, Assistant Director of the Center for Public Policy and Social Research, CCSU. Along with Nicholas’ taped interview, the collection digitized copies of a State of Connecticut Proclamation and a news clipping. The contents of the oral history interview provide evidence of American Infantry training, the daily routine of American Border Guards during the Korean War, and the management of military sporting teams.
