Camp Happyland/ William Wirth Winchester Hospital brochures, 1929-1935 Box 3, Folder 19

The William Wirt Winchester Hospital, part of New Haven Hospital, was founded in 1911 at the site of what is now the VA Hospital in West Haven. It treated patients with tuberculosis. Camp Happyland, a summer camp for children on the hospital grounds, provided outdoor activities for children in an effort to prevent tuberculosis.
