The photographs of Michael Rumaker in this subseries are ordered chronologically from approximately 1932 to 1984. These photographs include family photographs and portraits and candids of Rumaker throughout these years. The portraits are comprised of those from his early childhood, high school portraits, student IDs, those used in postcards, and those used for book covers. One photograph taken in 1962 is specifically inscribed as being used for the book, The Butterfly. Most of the candid photographs were taken from the fifties through the seventies and depict Michael around his home or doing work. Several of them are labeled as being taken when he was attending Black Mountain College.
