The most interesting materials in the Books subseries, arranged alphabetically by title, are drafts of an unpublished book by Brewster, "The Persistent Agenda of a Voluntary Society." The book, written by Brewster in the early 1980s, is a series of essays on how society can encourage freedom of choice for its citizens. It includes a revealing and informative autobiographical introduction. The Speeches subseries, arranged chronologically, documents the pre- and post-Yale years in Brewster's career and is quite extensive for his Ambassador years.
