The series consists of electronic files, on 162, 3.5 floppy disks. The files include drafts and final versions of outgoing correspondence, writings, presentations and lectures. The most substantive portion of the electronic correspondence concerns Boswell's professional life, although personal letters feature here as well, some of which are intensely personal, particularly those to his life partner, Jerone Hart, and to other men with whom he shared intimate relations. The electronic versions of writings include drafts of articles, book chapters, lectures, presentations, and Same-Sex Unions in Premodern Europe.
