This subseries consists of material from the development of the Church of Jesus Christ (Strangites), 1843-1850. Includes papers related to the organizations, such as the "Order of Illuminati" secret society and the collectivist Associated Order of Enoch as well as church trials, including proceedings against William Smith. A document also provides a roster of church members that witnessed the coronation of Strang as the "King of Zion" at Saint James, Beaver Island, Michigan, on July 8, 1850.
