Meredith to Mrs. Ross, dated [1861] September 25, with a note at the end from George Meredith, dated [1861] October 8.
Mentioning some of Meredith's early works: Evan Harrington, etc., and also "All the year around", Wilkie Collins & "The Woman in White", Dickens, Thackeray, and "Vanity Fair", Rossetti and "Cassandra", Swinburne and "East Lynne"; and giving some very interesting criticism.
