Series II consists of the John Lee papers. The correspondence is arranged alphabetically and is predominantly email exchanges between John Lee and his family members on Duncan Chaplin Lee. Correspondents also include historians and scholars of Cold War espionage such as Nigel West, Brian Loring Villa, and Allen Weinstein. A sizable portion of Series II includes copies of FBI files on Duncan Chaplin Lee obtained by or given to John Lee by Mark Bradley or Bruce Craig. In addition to the FBI files, the research materials contain book reviews, academic essays, excerpts from books, magazine articles, and assorted published material that suggest Chaplin Lee was a spy for the Soviet Union.
