The Reese Baxter gift contains correspondece, writings, and other material relating chiefly to William Rose Benét and Lora Baxter. Benét and Baxter were married from 1932 until 1937, and the group features approximately 92 pieces of correspondence from Benét to Baxter dating from 1932 until the year of his death, 1950. There are drafts and printed versions of poems by Benét and, among other materials, there is a copy of Benét's last will and testament.
