Series I, Correspondence, (CA 4 a) consists of boxes 1-11 and is divided into six sections. Section 1 represents correspondence with fourteen of the original twenty-five German noblemen who were the principals of the Adelsverein. Section 2 contains a mixture of various types of corres- pondence. Sections 3-5 consist of forty-five folders of immigrant correspondence arranged in a loose alphabetical order. Section 6 contains Texas-Verein material relating primarily to the banking house of Schmidt & Co.
