The series is divided into two subseries. The Arts and Maps subseries contains maps of Newton, Massachusetts; a campus poster of Colby Hall; paintings and rubbings with Asian themes; prints with images of Asian themes, Andover Newton campus buildings, the English alphabet, and block prints produced by the American Engraving Company; a Japanese scroll; and site plans for a Salem Street house in Boston, Massachusetts. The Photographs subseries contains photographs, negatives, slides, digital photographs on floppy disks, and photograph albums, which include photographic images of people; events; buildings and grounds; and organizations. There are also disposable cameras with undeveloped rolls of film, which contain photographs of Community Day celebrations.

The series includes Presidential annual reports; booklets; clippings; programs, invitations, and speeches for baccalaureate, commencement, convocation, and Presidential inaugurations; course catalogs; administrative, alumni, faculty, and student directories; student handbooks; published journals; administrative, faculty, staff, and departmental newsletters; study guides; publicity fliers, brochures, pamphlets, bulletins, programs, and announcements for conferences, events, workshops, recruitment, and lectures; and books published by or about the school. Also includes unpublished course related manuscripts.

The series includes school promotional and anniversary realia and objects acquired from missionary travels around the world.
