Abstract Or Scope: Mrs. Clarence F.R. Jenne, who also served as the organization's first president, organized the Hartford Colony of the National Society of New England Women January 1, 1921. The object of the Society was to bring together in social relations, women of New England ancestry to engage in educational, patriotic, civic, and philanthropic work. Correspondance includes letters from her brother-in-law A. E. Newberry written in 1863. Other correspondence is from her sisters Maria Brewer and Jane Smith and leters to and from her mother. Also in the collection is a probate certificate of descent dated July 10, 1932 pertaining to the estate of Priscilla Newberry.

Abstract Or Scope: This collection details Nicholas Czunas early experiences as a freedom fighter in Hungary which helped to prepare him for his tour of duty in North Korea. An oral history interview was conducted on January 22, 2004 at Central Connecticut State University by Eileen Hurst, Assistant Director of the Center for Public Policy and Social Research, CCSU. Along with Nicholas’ taped interview, the collection digitized copies of a State of Connecticut Proclamation and a news clipping. The contents of the oral history interview provide evidence of American Infantry training, the daily routine of American Border Guards during the Korean War, and the management of military sporting teams.
