The Steven H. Scheuer Collection of Television Program Scripts contains approximately five thousand American television scripts dating from about 1953 to 1963. The scripts offer insight into programming during the period in which television became a fixture in the average home and the primary medium for news and entertainment. The collection contains a wide range of program genres, including variety shows, drama serials, historical drama, crime drama and reenactments, plays, situation comedies, westerns, documentaries, interviews, music, and religious programs. All three major broadcast networks in the United States during this time period--ABC, CBS, and NBC--are represented. The collection also contains a small number of press releases and some material documenting the activities of TV Key, including draft reports and synopses.

The papers contain correspondence, memoranda, position papers, reports, speeches, appointment books, photographs, scrapbooks, and films documenting the career of Richard C. Lee, mayor of New Haven, 1954-1969. The Lee Papers document the professional and public life of Lee, not his personal life. The papers contain correspondence and other materials on the practice of urban politics, urban renewal, New Haven's efforts in the war on poverty, civil rights and race relations, town-gown relations, and his interaction with local and state Democratic Party leaders. The papers also include campaign files covering the period 1949-1968, appointment books, photographs documenting the course of redevelopment, a small amount of material on Lee's life after he left office, and political scrapbooks.

The Veteran Association of the Hartford City Guard was organized on November 26, 1867. It was composed of those persons who were active or honorary members of the Hartford City Guard prior to July 5, 1865. The Association's main objective was social with the intention "to keep alive old and pleasant memories and perpetuation of recollections of the old Company." Each year they held a reunion on the second Wednesday of January. The first reunion was held on January 8, 1868. At their 50th reunion held in 1917, it was agreed that it should be the last reunion.

Harleigh B. Trecker Papers, undated, 1921-1981

Harleigh Bradley Trecker was born 11 February 1911 in Calery, Illinois. Trecker attended George Williams College (B.S., 1934) and the University of Chicago (M.A., 1938) before embarking upon a career in social work. From 1938 until 1941, Trecker was an instructor at George Williams College and in 1941; he accepted a position at the University of Southern California. In 1951, Trecker accepted the position of Dean, School of Social Work at the University of Connecticut; a position he retained until 1968. From 1968 until his retirement in 1977, Trecker held the position of Professor of Social Work. Trecker's research focused on social work administration and boards of community service agencies. Harleigh Trecker died in 1986.

The collection consists of material gathered by Lindsay Fleming in the course of his research on the life and work of Samuel Lysons, and includes correspondence with scholars and Lyson family descendants; transcripts of portions of Lysons's diary and his letters to Hester Thrale Piozzi; the typsecript of Fleming's "Memoirs and Select Letters of Samuel Lysons"; photographs; and letters to and from Daniel and Samuel Lysons. The correspondence of Daniel Lysons mainly concerns his topographical studies; the correspondence of Samuel Lysons documents his antiquarian interests and his work as Keeper of the Records. Correspondents include William Coxe, Sir Thomas Lawrence, Thomas Penrose, and Wilfred Merton.
