Biographical / Historical:

The General Hospital Society of Connecticut was founded in 1826. Its name was changed to New Haven Hospital in 1884; Grace-New Haven Hospital in 1945; and Yale-New Haven Hospital in 1965. It served as the primary teaching hospital for the Yale medical school.
