Abstract:
The Bristol Company Records document the founding of the Bristol Company and the various products produced by the company. Bristol produced industrial instruments: instruments to measure and record temperature, electricity, pressure, motion, time, flow, and humidity. Documents include Product Data Sheets, Catalogs, Photographs, Meeting Minutes, Newspaper Clippings. The museum also has a small collection of Bristol Instruments.

Scope and Content:

The Bristol Company Records contains professional documents from 1889 until 1980. The collection is arranged alphabetically and then in chronological order.

Bristol produced industrial instruments: instruments to measure and record temperature, electricity, pressure, motion, time, flow, and humidity.The collection contains information on products produced by the Bristol Company: undated handwritten calculations and models done by employees of the company and catalogs, which would be sent out to customers or retail stores detailing the Bristol Company's products. Additionally, there are Product data sheets arranged in chronological order from 1946-1981.

The collection also contains a small amount of administrative material. Articles and Histories of the company include biographies done by local newspapers. There also are Legal Documents, Stock Certificates from 1908, and Company Brochures dated 1988.

One group of items that are interesting to note are an 2 groupings of satirical comics done by employee John Marcoux detailing company life and administration during the 1940s.
