Biographical / Historical:

Allen Johnson (1870-1931), American historian; Yale University professor of history, 1910-1926; and editor of Dictionary of American Biography and the Chronicles of America Series. The Chronicles of America Series, a series of monographs on topics in American history, was published in fifty volumes by the United States Publishers' Association and Yale University Press, 1919-1921. Fifteen films based on monographs in the Series were produced by the Chronicles of America Picture Corporation, 1923-1924.
