The Samuel Adams Green papers consist of correspondence, photographs, printed materials, audiocassette recordings, artwork, and other papers by or relating to curator, socialite, and celebrity assistant Samuel Adams Green. The bulk of the archive is organized into binders that document with correspondence, photographs, clippings, and other papers Green's relationships with notable figures including Cecil Beaton, Greta Garbo, John Lennon, Yoko Ono, and many other artists and celebrities. The collection also includes correspondence, photographs, clippings, and other papers documenting Green's work as an art curator and preservationist, including the 1965 Andy Warhol retrospective he organized while director of the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Additional personal papers include journals, day planners, a guest book from Green's home in Cartagena, Colombia, correspondence, photographs, and clippings. Additional photographs include slides from Green's travels. Audiovisual materials include audiocassettes containing demo recordings from Yoko Ono and John Lennon, as well as answering machine recordings of Andy Warhol, Cecil Beaton, and others.

Correspondence includes both family and professional correspondence, as well as fan letters. Correspondents include Marilyn Hacker, Iva Hacker-Delany, Robert S. Bravard, Camilla Decarnin, Thomas M. The Solomon Sir Jones films consist of 29 silent black and white films documenting African-American communities in Oklahoma from 1924 to 1928. Jones filmed Oklahoma residents in their homes; during their social, school and church activities; in the businesses they owned; and performing various jobs. The films document several Oklahoma communities, including Muskogee, Okmulgee, Tulsa, Wewoka, Bristow and Taft. The films also document Jones's trips to Indiana, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, New York City, South Carolina, Colorado, and overseas to France, England, Palestine, Switzerland, Italy, Northern Africa, and Germany. Slates between scenes identify locations, dates, and subjects. The films measure 12,800 feet (355 min).

Steichen, his daughters Mary Steichen Calderone and Charlotte "Kate" Rodina Steichen, his granddaughters Linda and Nell Martin and Francesca and Maria Calderone-Steichen, and his sister Lilian "Paula" Steichen and her husband, poet Carl Sandburg. Photographs and photograph albums by Edward Steichen and other photographers include portraits of Edward Steichen and other family members, photographs of family homes, and other subjects. Correspondence includes family correspondence with Carl Sandburg, and correspondence with playwright Edward Albee and others. Writings include works by family members, including Joanna T. Steichen and Francesca Steichen Calderone, as well as writings of others about Edward Steichen and Mary Calderone Steichen. Exhibition materials document exhibitions created by or relating to Edward Steichen.
