The Louise Crane and Victoria Kent Papers document the personal and professional lives of Louise Crane, Victoria Kent, and Josephine Boardman Crane, and consist of correspondence, subject files, personal papers, financial documents, clippings, photographs, and slides. The papers provide evidence of the Crane family's philanthropic work and involvement in a number of cultural associations, including the China Institute in America, Harpsichord Music Society, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Museum of Modern Art. Correspondents include Elizabeth Bishop and Loren MacIver. The Papers provide insight into a prominent philanthropic family as well as cultural activities in New York City during the mid- to late twentieth century. Victoria Kent's involvement in politics and cultural affairs is also represented in the Papers. Victoria Kent's correspondence and subject files are a window into the activities of the expatriate Spanish community in the United States following the Spanish Civil War. The papers also relate to Crane and Kent's work to publish the Spanish-language magazine Ibérica as well as their personal relationship.

The papers document the literary and personal lives of Morgan and Theis, and contain correspondence, subject files, and professional papers related to the 20th century British literary world. There is correspondence regarding Evelyn Scott, and correspondence as well as poems by Nancy Cunard.

The Louise Talma Papers contain materials relating to composition and performance of Talma's opera The Alcestiad, and to Thornton Wilder, his friendship with Talma, and his collaboration with her as librettist for The Alcestiad. Contents relating to The Alcestiad, 1950s-1970s, include autograph letters, signed, to Talma from Thornton Wilder, 1952-1975 and undated, and from his sister Isabel Wilder, 1954-1972, with some letters annotated by Talma; autograph manuscript music drafts; diazo reproductions of autograph manuscript full scores and vocal scores, including a German translation by Herberth E. Herlitschka; microfilms of scores; autograph manuscript drafts by Wilder of the libretto, and typescript mimeograph copies of the libretto; audiocassettes and reel-to-reel audiotapes of performances, 1960-1962 and undated; photographs of performances; and clippings of reviews. Other papers, 1940s-1980s, include scores and parts for other vocal, orchestral, and chamber works by Talma, most diazo reproductions of autograph manuscript scores, 1947-1980 and undated; other writings by Wilder, most typescript, 1953-1973 and undated; clippings relating to Wilder; concert programs and other printed material, most concerning performances of Talma's music; and photographs, most of Talma with Wilder or with musicians, 1956-1962.

The papers contain manuscripts, notes, correspondence, and other papers pertaining to the five-volume series Tales of the Silver Sisters.

The collection consists of correspondence, writings, official reports, subject files, printed materials, and personal papers documenting the life and political career of La Revellière-Lépeaux, particularly during the period of the First Republic (1792-1804). The papers span the years 1789-1872, encompassing early publications by La Revellière-Lépeaux through correspondence of La Revellière-Lépeaux's family after his death.
Series I, Correspondence, contains letters from other French officials, scholars and colleagues concerning political affairs, the French Revolution, Theophilanthrophy and deism, diplomacy and contemporary scientific research and expeditions. Correspondents include Charles Delacroix, Victor Marie Du Pont, Alexander von Humboldt, Alexis Rochon, David Bailie Warden, and United States President James Monroe. Third Party Correspondence includes correspondence from Nicolas Baudin to the Ministry of the Navy; a letter from Moissonnier, ex-Vice Consul to the United States, to Jean-François Reubell concerning the Russian Empire; and correspondence related to events in the United States, Turkey, and South America. There are also sets of correspondence addressed to La Revellière-Lépeaux's son from Adolphe Thiers and Jules Michelet, requesting access to the papers of La Revellière-Lépeaux for research.
Series II, Writings, consists of La Revellière-Lépeaux's manuscript memoirs as well as printed materials and manuscript drafts of material written by or attributed to La Revellière-Lépeaux during his career. Drafts of La Revellière-Lépeaux's speeches are also present.
Series III, Official Reports and Other Documents, is organized by geographic region, encompassing broad international reports as well as more focused reports and supporting documents that analyze France's position in relation to other nations and France's colonies. Materials relating to two expeditions, the 1792 voyage of Charles Baudin which ended in his arrest by Spanish authorities, and the expedition undertaken by Aristide Du Petit-Thouars in 1791 in search of the missing explorerer Jean-François de Galaup La Pérouse, are present. The Africa and Asia subseries includes five reports from Claude Etienne Savary which detail observations and proposals for improving trade and communication in the Near East. The Americas subseries contain reports relating to the new American republic, reports concerning Guadeloupe and French Guiana, a printed map of French Guiana, a memorandum estimating the forces needed to conquer Canada, and other documents relating to French diplomatic efforts in North America. The Europe subseries includes several documents related to Italy, including a draft of a military order for General Napoleon Bonaparte regarding the organization of country after France's successful 1797 campaign. The French Domestic Affairs subseries consists of documents pertaining to the national and local administration of political, social, and cultural affairs within France.
Series IV, Printed Material, consists of pamphlets and other printed publications, primarily political. Series V, Subject Files, contains notes and drawings related to L'Academie Celtique and Celtic monuments in France, as well as documents concerning Theophilanthropy, which La Revellière-Lépeaux proposed as the new national religion of France. Series VI, Personal Papers, consists of travel documents and a security pass.

The collection consists of legal records and personal papers that document litigation over William Clark's autograph manuscripts that recorded his impressions (in 1803 and 1804) during a portion of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The collection is of interest not only for its documentation of the provenance of the Clark manuscripts and litigation concerning their ownership, but also for its relation to the broader legal and historical issues surrounding the distinction between public records and private papers, including replevin and quiet title actions. The files contain court records, correspondence, notes, and files that document the extensive research undertaken by the attorneys engaged in the case (principally Donald F. Hyde), and the contributions of expert witnesses. Also present are records relating to a later case that touched upon similar themes, State of New Mexico v. Kenneth Sender.

Photographs collected by Ladell Stark Humes of the Klondike region of the Yukon, as well as other areas in Alaska and Yukon Territory, circa 1865-1939. Photographers chiefly represented in the collection include William Howard Case, Case & Draper, Robert Collier, and A. W. Hall. Depicted are Native American men, women, and children; gold mining efforts; and town and landscape views. Also present are stereographs produced by the Keystone View Company of Inuit men, women, and children of Kwigillingok, Alaska; and pages of a printed work by an unknown creator about Alaska.
