The Committee on Public Information

During WWI the Committee on Public Information (CPI) played a major role in providing the public with critical information on the war. Some of the information available was provided in the form of pamphlets, handbooks, and collections. This particular theme in the WWI exhibit explores the basis on how actual information was delivered to the people of the United States about WWI and the effects it had on them. It also explores contributions the CPI made in regards to the general war effort and the positive outlook on the war. A few examples of the information provided would include the National Service Handbook, The War Cyclopedia, and The War Information Series.
