Albert Dorne (1906 - 1965) was an American illustrator and entrepreneur, and was co-founder of correspondence schools for aspiring artists, photographers, and writers. Dorne was co-founder of the Code of Ethics and Fair Practices of the Profession of Commercial Art and Illustration. In 1943, he was featured on the cover of American Artist magazine, recognized as "one of the best and highest paid in the field of advertising illustration."He frequently worked for the Johnstone and Cushing advertising agency. Dorne was president of the New YorkSociety of Illustrators in 1947–48. In 1948 he conceived the idea of a correspondence school for art, and recruited eleven other well-known artists and illustrators affiliated with the Society of Illustrators, including Norman Rockwell to found the Famous Artists School. In 1961 he helped found the Famous Photographers School and the Famous Writers School, based on similar principles. All three schools were based in Westport Connecticut. In 1956, Dorne donated his pictorial resource file of over 500,000 items to the Westport Public Library. The collection is still in use today. In 1964, theUniversity of Bridgeport Department of Art endowed the Albert Dorne Professorship in Drawing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Dorne

Bernard Lamotte (1903 – 1983) was a Paris-born artist, illustrator, painter and muralist. He attended Ecole des Beaux Artsat the Sorbonne and studied under Bernand Corman andLucien Simon(1861–1945). From 1932 to 1935, Lamotte traveled to Paris, Tahiti and New York. In 1935 at the age of 32, he moved to New York City to pursue his art. Lamotte’s travels inspired his works, as demonstrated by his cityscapes of Paris, New York, and Tahiti. Lamotte beautifully captured modern day Parisian city life and street scenes Lamotte’s style is reminiscent of other artists of the School of Paris, modern with a flair for the romantic. His technique gives his oil paintings a look and texture of a watercolor.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Lamotte
