in n o way to be a p artisan a ffair. E verybody i s not o nly i nvited b ut m ost earnestly requested t o p articipate i n the
affair a nd to do his u tmost " to m ake" i t
a success. From t he n umber s ignifying
their intention t o d ecorate a nd i lluminate t he c ity will b e a b laze o f
light. Flags a nd b unting w ill b e profusely d isplayed, a nd e verybody w ho
has t he least interest i n D anbury s hould
make t his t he c elebration o f her f irst
step under the g overnment as a city,the
greatest e vent i n h er h istory. T he t ime
is s hort, b ut if e ach o ne t a k e h old as h e
ought o n s uch a n o ccasion, success ( is
assured. A goodly s um of m oney has
been c ontributed a nd w ill b e used i n
paying t he g eneral b ills.
A p arade w ill be one of the f eatures of
the e vening, a nd a lthough b ut f ew i nvitations h ave been personally extended,
every o rganization,""both m ilitary a nd
civic', a nd all t ire c ompanies a re especially i nvited t o t ake their places i n
the l ine, w hich w ill f orm a t the C ity
Hall, a t s even o 'clock, s harp. I t is
hoped t hat w i t h o u t f u r t h e r i n v i t a t i o n
every member o f each o rganization w ill
put i n an a ppearance.

Each of t he g eneral c ity o fficers a nd
each o f the a ldermen w ill b o s erenaded,
