The group of men is posed at Danbury's old City Hall at the entrance to the police station. The men are wearing U.S. Army infantry markings on their hats, and have belt buckles similar to those issued to soldiers of the Spanish-American War. Company M of the 4th Connecticut National Guard were from Danbury. Many of the men have the Roman numeral "IV" or 4 on the face of their cap.
