Abstract

Sculpture created using a wooden pipe box from an organ to which pieces found at the site of the Oakville Brass Co., and Danbury’s Doran Brothers factory are affixed. Doran Brothers made hat manufacturing equipment and were located on what was known as River St. (now Beaver). Automotem Totem, is part of a series of “automotems” that was one aspect of a larger theme of works known as Timmins “Homage to Charles Ives” series that consists of works that are composed of materials collected from places in and around Danbury.
