The settlers coming up from Norwalk (Conn.) named the town Swampfield, then it became Bean Town, then was changed to Pahquioke. The notes include lists of the Native American village campsites in the area, locations of council fire pits and burial grounds, and known collections of Native American artifacts, The notes also include stories of the last Native Americans to live in the area. Hand drawn maps show loctions of Native American burial grounds, villages, and sites where many artifacts were found.
