On October 13, 1890, the beaten and stripped body of William Walton, the son of a Wilton, CT Episcopal Minister, was found dead after last being seen at the Danbury Fair. Walton was a hat finisher but had turned to drink. Walton in the summer of 1889 had been found in a burning building suspected to have been set fire by the Firebug. The murderer was never found.
