This is a pair of hand-carved and unfinished wooden clogs; simply decorated with the carving of a leaf on the top. They are bound together with wire presumably for display. They closely resemble examples from Lithuania.
Postcards that take comic aim at the changing roles of women in the early twentieth century. One depicts a woman from 1836 with a large hoop skirt and and woman from 1908 with a comparably large hat - "the ways of women are past finding out". Another shows a women going through her sleeping husband's pants pockets in search of change; "first chance I've had to take a little change".
