Grasso, Haas and Bersi Dig In

A New Campus Begins
After years of delay, political fighting,
broken promises, and frustration the day that
everyone anxiously awaited came - the day the
ground was broken for the first building on the
new Westside Campus.
Governor Ella Grasso, along with former
College President Dr. Ruth A. Haas, and
President Robert Bersi enthusiastically dug
in to start the new eleven million dollar
facility.
Hundreds gathered at the new campus site
to witness the groundbreaking, and not even
a cloudy and drizzly day could dampen
the spirits of those on hand.
The battle for the new campus had finally
been won - the needs of the students and
southwestern Connecticut were finally being
addressed by the State of Connecticut;
however, it wasn't a day to say thank you this day was earned!
