The Clio 2009 Staff

Wynn Gadkar-Wilcox is Associate Professor of History and Non-Western Cultures at Western Connecticut State University. He is also advisor to Clio and co-director of WCSU’s Roger Sherman Debate Society. He is the author of many articles on the historiography and intellectual history of modern Vietnam.

Katherine Allocco is Clio’s co-faculty advisor and is an Assistant Professor of History and Non-Western Cultures at WCSU. She specializes in the history of medieval England, the history of gender, and images of the medieval in popular culture

Kathleen Ross is a senior History major at WestConn. She will graduate in May 2009. While being a huge fan of Clio for as long as she can remember, Katie became the Vice-President of Clio in the fall of 2008. In addition to her avid love of Clio, Katie is also the President of the WCSU History Society, as well the Ritual and the Recruitment Director of Kappa Chi Alpha Sorority. After WestConn Katie intends to pursue a Masters of Library and Information Science, so she can one day live the dream and become a librarian.

Colleen Tarsi is a junior at WestConn. She is a History major and has been a member of the Clio staff since the 2007-8 academic year. While not collecting and editing submissions for the Clio journal, Colleen enjoys reading, travelling, and the occasional nap.

Jamie Cantoni is a senior History major and will be beginning classes towards a dual masters degree in History and Library Science with concentrations in Archives/Preservation and Special Collections as well as Medieval British History at Simmons College in Boston, MA, in June 2009. She currently works in the Ruth Haas Library Archives and as the ARM of Fairfield Hall. When not working or doing school work, Jamie enjoys running and going to museums.

Alyssa R. Scalora is a senior at WCSU and will be graduating in May with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Elementary Education, and History. Alyssa is also an active member in other clubs and organizations on campus, such as: President of Kappa Chi Alpha Sorority, Sergeant at Arms of Greek Council, Vice-President of the History Society and also a member of the Education Club. She loves the outdoors, enjoys reading and shopping and spending time with family and friends.

Amy Christine Kopchik is a junior at Western Connecticut State University. She is majoring in a BA for History. She has held internships at the National Museum of the United States Navy and the Gettysburg National Military Park. Last fall, she spent her semester studying the Civil War under Dr. Allen Carl Guelzo at Gettysburg College. She hopes to attend Graduate School in 2010 and follow with a profession as a Historian or a Professor.

Joshua Leslie is a junior majoring in History. His love is 20th century military history. In addition to the Clio, Joshua is the Chief Justice of WestConn’s Student Court.

John Coleman is a senior History major at WestConn and will be graduating in May of 2009. Having been involved with Clio since the fall of 2007, John clawed his way up the dog-eat-dog world of historical journal politics to become the club’s President for the 2008-09 academic year. Besides Clio, John is also involved with The Echo and WestConn’s History Society.
